DUNDEE KZN: SAPS warn public against men targeting hitchhikers

Anybody with information is asked to contact the nearest police station.

SAPS have warned hitchhikers on especially the Dundee/Vryheid road to exercise caution following three incidents where three men, travelling in an unmarked vehicle, stop to give them lifts only to rob them.

The gang use a blue Toyota Corolla and usually pick on female hitchhikes. In the latest incident, a woman was picked up near Dundee Primary School on Victoria Street.

When the vehicle neared the Ngisane turn off on the Vryheid road, they robbed her of her cellphone, money and other belongings before dropping her off. Anybody with information is asked to contact the nearest police station.
