Ladysmith KZN: Help needed to nail suspect in triple murder

A reward of up to R20,000 has been offered for information that could lead to his arrest

Police are asking for help in tracking down an outstanding suspect wanted in connection with a triple murder in August last year. Three people were shot and killed just before midnight on August 31, 2020, while in a vehicle in the Pieters area of Ezakheni.

The deceased were identified as Mncedisi Dladla (26), Dima Dladla (30) and Nompumelelo Thwala (24).

Murder charges were opened for investigation at Ezakheni SAPS and the docket was then transferred to the Political Task Team for investigation.

The investigation led to the arrest of five accused, namely Lethukuthula Khumalo (25), Sabelo Madlala (25), Sandile Sibonelo Madlala (32), Thabiso Nkosi (23) and Siyabonga Sikhakhane (29), who were charged with murder and attempted murder. The accused were remanded into custody until August 27, 2021, when they will appear in the Ezakheni Magistrate’s Court.

The detective team is now appealing to members of the community to assist in locating Sizwe Madoda Shelembe / Thabethe (28). A warrant for his arrest was issued by the court and a reward of up to R20,000 has been offered to anyone who may have information that could lead to his arrest.
