Litter collection gets a boost

This project is aimed at ridding the community of litter, while rewarding the volunteers

Three trolleys from the Litter4tokens organisation were received by Riverdale Primary School educator Deborah Gamede on Thursday, May 19.

These trolleys will be used by ‘Unyaka Wakho Youth Foundation Advocates for Change’ members, as well as Riverdale Unit Girl Guides for litter collection in the community.

The three trolleys that were received to help with litter collection in the community.

“It was really a jolly day. The campaign is on and we are still calling for people who are willing to join us in this recycling project,” said Gamede.

Unyaka Wakho Youth Foundation Advocates for Change has started working with a team of local women who are participating in recycling.

The women were given two of the trolleys to use for litter collection.

On Monday last week (May 30), Mrs Gamede and Mrs RZ Mbatha delivered the two trolleys to the women’s team.

“Because the trolleys are still Litter4tokens property, they will be only used for litter collection. The trolleys will be taken away from them should they not follow the rules,” said Gamede.

She thanks school principal Mr MM Magubane for his continuous support.
