SAPS at Dundee Secondary following learners’ protest
When the Courier arrived, the learners were seen running towards the gates when two police vehicles arrived.

Police vans were dispatched to Dundee Secondary School this morning after learners did not go into classrooms, choosing to gather on the premises.
Nearby residents on Browning Street, who called the Courier, said the learners were singing and ‘shouting’ and ‘milling around’.
When the Courier arrived, the learners were seen running towards the gates when two police vehicles arrived.
The police later withdrew and learnets left the school premises. It is understood that the protest is related to an earlier incident where a female teacher was allegedly assaulted by a learner.
The Courier understands that the learner has since apologised and the Dundee SAPs confirmed that no charges related to that incident have been opened. An official comment is awaited from the Education Department.
