What’s On in the Dundee area – plenty from a Derby Day clash, to cycling to a major soccer tournament

The Biggarsberg Cycle Race is a new race to encourage new and different forms of tourism in our area. The race is registered with Cycling KZN.

May 11 – Talana Museum vintage fashion show and Victorian afternoon tea

There will be a fashion show showcasing garments for the museum collection from 18:00 to 19:00, with narration and interesting snippets and history of the items. The hostess must provide all tables with linen, flowers, crockery, cutlery milk, sugar, beverages and umbrellas for shade. All proceeds from this event will go to the Talana Museum Trust Account. May 25 -Derby Day at Sarel Cilliers

The annual clash against Dundee High School is always a nail-biter Join us for the most exciting day where rugby, hockey, and netball teams will be participating against each other. Stalls galore will be available food stalls no food stalls and jumping castles will be available for the kids. Contact Sarel Cilliers to book a stall. June 16- Biggarsberg Cycle Race

This is a new race to encourage new and different forms of tourism in our area. The race is registered with Cycling KZN and has professional registration and timekeeping companies participating in the event. The routes take you through lovely countryside on quiet tar roads, and up and down mountains that will test your endurance.The event is to be held in conjunction with Cycling KZN Development who will be training the marshals and entering some of their riders in the races. Starts (at 7.30 am) and ends at Talana Museum in Dundee. Entry fees are 34km R100; 75km. R300.

August 9

Rooi Dlame soccer tournament, Nquthu

Rooi Dlame will host the 2024 soccer tournament at the Nquthu stadium where the winning team can take home R10 000 and a full set of jerseys, gold medals and a floating trophy. The second-placed team will win R2000, jerseys and silver medals with a prize of R1200 for the team finishing third plus bronze medals. Ladies teams are also welcome.
