Coal truck convoy converges on Dundee washing plant
The convoy of trucks have seen the industrial area, off Newton Road, turned into a 'truck camp'.
Hundreds of trucks have been arriving at the Coalfields washing plant outside Dundee on the Helpmekaar road to load up coal for a ship waiting in the Richards Bay harbour.
The trucks are parked off Newton Road and in and around the washing plant, and many drivers are setting up camp to wait their turn to be loaded.

Pat Lightfoot of Zinoju Coal Proprietary Limited (“Zinoju”), which holds all the mineral rights relating to the Buffalo Coal mining properties, said the stockpile at the plant was full and was glad to have received the export order for the Middle and Far East.
He commented that the company is still committed to its investment in Dundee and was confident that there ‘would be heavy investment in the area’ as the company seeks to ignite the local mining industry.
He confirmed that more details regarding the company’s plans will be revealed soon.
