Infrastructure tops Dundee residents’ priorities in local poll

Dundee residents prioritise infrastructure upgrades, calling for better roads, services and cleaner public spaces.

Improving infrastructure has emerged as the top priority for Dundee residents following a recent community poll.

Residents call for basic services to be fixed first

The informal survey asked residents what the area needs most, focusing on four categories: a new mall, more industry, better infrastructure and a cleaner environment.

Better infrastructure received the highest number of votes, with 70 respondents saying roads, municipal services and public facilities should take priority over new developments.

The results reflect growing frustration over deteriorating infrastructure and service delivery challenges affecting daily life in the area.

A cleaner environment received 42 votes, while 46 residents supported the idea of a new mall, highlighting the desire for both improved living conditions and economic growth.

More industry attracted 37 votes, showing continued concern about employment opportunities and local economic development and the lack thereof.

The poll suggests residents believe reliable infrastructure is essential for future investment and growth.

Many appear to feel that without functioning roads, consistent services and cleaner public spaces, other developments may struggle to succeed.
