Toy gun-wielding suspect arrested
Members of the operational team received a tip-off on the suspects' whereabouts.
One suspect was arrested last week, after he was positively linked to a recent home invasion. He was found with a toy gun in his possession.
According to Imran Ghafoor, members of Newcastle Crime Fighter Task Team, together with the Newcastle K9 Unit’s B Shift and the Newcastle POC Unit’s B Shift, received a tip-off regarding a suspect believed to have been involved in a house robbery.
“After following up on the information, members were able to arrest the suspect, who was found in possession of suspected stolen property,” explained Ghafoor.
He thanked everyone involved in the arrest for their excellent work in keeping the town safe.
