Four teenagers have been arrested and charged with murder after a 23-year-old man was stabbed to death in Section A, Osizweni, last Friday.
Amajuba District Police Communications Officer, Constable Nonjabulo Langa, said a swift and coordinated police operation — launched following last month’s fatal stabbing of a scholar — led to the arrest of the suspects, aged between 16 and 17.
The operation was carried out by Osizweni SAPS CSC members Sergeant Magubane and Constable Mbatha, Crime Room Officer Warrant Officer Nkosi, and Captain Mgabhi.
The victim was found dead with multiple stab wounds at around 3pm on Friday, October 17, by officers responding to a callout in Section A (commonly referred to as uMlazi) in Osizweni.
According to witness statements, the victim was on his way home when he encountered the group of young men who assaulted and stabbed him.
“Although he managed to flee, he collapsed shortly afterwards and succumbed to his injuries.”
The motive behind the attack remains unknown.
