Police arrest suspect during intelligence-led drug operation

An intelligence-driven operation in Verdriet lead to the arrest of a man found with over 100 heroin capsules. Read more here:

Over 100 capsules of heroin were confiscated, and a man arrested this week during a joint security operation in the Verdriet area of Dannhauser.

The operation, according to Newcastle Crime Fighters, Imran Ghafoor, involved several law enforcement teams.

This included members of the SAPS MDOC KZN CI, SAPS Newcastle Crime Prevention (C Shift), SAPS Dannhauser Tracing Team, Ithemba Security SPES Intervention and the CCPA’s Amajuba District Crime Fighters.

During the operation, one man was arrested for allegedly being in possession of 107 capsules of heroin.

“Well done to all members involved for their coordinated and effective response,” said Ghafoor.
