Rock cocaine, mandrax and crystal meth found

Police officers from the Provincial Drugs and Firearm Unit received information about a vehicle transporting drugs between Madadeni and Osizweni. A co-ordinated plan was put in place to intercept the vehicle.

Officers, working with private security personnel, positioned themselves along the suspected route and monitored the area for several hours.

The vehicle was eventually spotted and stopped.

A search uncovered a bag containing various kinds of drugs, including rock cocaine, mandrax and crystal meth.

The two occupants, a man and a woman, were arrested on the spot and charged with possession of and dealing in drugs.

They are expected to appear in the Madadeni District Court this week. Further investigations are underway.
