Police arrest suspects and seize drugs in Newcastle

Narcotics, including ‘rock’ and crystal meth, were seized this week in Newcastle’s CBD following a joint security operation.
Imran Ghafoor of the Newcastle Crime Fighter’s Task Team (CCPA) said members from the Newcastle Crime Fighter Task Team, Newcastle K9 Unit, Newcastle Stabilised Unit and the Amajuba District Drug Team formed a joint operation to ensure a swift and successful arrest.
“Two suspects were arrested during the operation and officers recovered 70 parcels of rock and 10 parcels of crystal meth,” said Ghafoor.
The suspects will be charged with dealing in drugs and possession of drugs.
“Well done to all units involved for their coordinated effort,” concluded Ghafoor
