Mayor hands over ‘tools of the trade’ to small businesses

Mayor Sibisi said that applications for 2024/25 are now open

Alfred Duma Mayor Zama Sibisi has embarked on the Local Economic Development programme, where he supports small local businesses.

Yesterday (July 11), he handed over ‘tools of the trade’ to small businesses in the Lime Hill and Vaalkop areas.

The programme will extend across the entire local municipal area in various wards.

Sibisi said the beneficiaries were identified through processes undertaken in the respective wards.

The equipment that was handed over included catering equipment, gardening equipment, seeds, weed removal chemicals, and sewing machines.

“We understand that it is not enough. However, I appeal to the community to bear with us as we try to reach everyone. Those who didn’t get this time around, hopefully they will get in the next financial year,” said Sibisi.
