Dundee Rotary swim fund-raiser helps fight against polio

Community members support Rotary swim fund-raiser as 140 participants take to the pool on a sunny afternoon.

Ideal weather and a sunny afternoon set the tone for a successful Rotary Club community swimming fund-raiser, which attracted participants of all ages.

A total of 140 swimmers signed the register, with many also making additional donations in support of the cause.

Activities included aquacise classes, lap swimming and informal fun in the pool, creating an inclusive and relaxed atmosphere throughout the afternoon.

School spirit shines through

Two young swimmers arrived at 1pm and remained in the pool until 5pm, underlining the enthusiasm shown on the day.

Veteran swimming instructor Jenny Thöle took the opportunity to offer impromptu guidance to some of the younger participants.

Dundee High School emerged as the strongest supporter, recording the highest number of participants and displaying impressive team spirit. Iman Joosub, also from Dundee High School, delivered an exceptional performance by completing 208 lengths of the pool.

Members of the Dundee High School Rotary Interact Club assisted throughout the afternoon, helping to ensure the smooth running of the event alongside Rotarians who volunteered their time.
