A life dedicated to music and cultural excellence

Born in the Embuzweni area of Ladysmith, Albert Mazibuko was a retired member of the globally celebrated isicathamiya group Ladysmith Black Mambazo. The group has received numerous accolades, including multiple Grammy Awards, over a career spanning more than five decades. He was widely respected for his dedication to the arts and for helping to put Ladysmith and the broader Estcourt region on the international map.

Municipality pledges support for dignified farewell

Mayor Mduduzi Myeza described Albert Mazibuko as a committed cultural ambassador and praised his contribution to music and community pride. He confirmed that the municipality has pledged its support to the Mazibuko family, ensuring that funeral arrangements reflect the dignity and respect befitting his legacy.
