Two Monument Primary School swimmers took part in the SA Level 2 Regional Age Group Champs, held at Kings Park Stadium in Durban recently. The event took place over three days, from Friday to Sunday.
Lelanie Marais and Kaylee van der Merwe represented Ladysmith Marlins Club, and both girls made the finals for their events.
At the finals that were swum in the afternoon, the girls pushed really hard, swimming personal best times.
Kaylee van der Merwe won two silver medals for 100m freestyle and 100m backstroke; and two gold medals for 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke.

Well done, girls, on your excellent performances. You really made your school proud, ending the swimming season on such a high note.
