Vryheid High balances sporting success with Grade 12 trial exams

Vryheid High celebrates cricket, rugby, soccer and netball successes while Grade 12 trials begin.

Vryheid High School has once again shown its sporting strength, with teams excelling in cricket, rugby, soccer and netball over the past week.

The U/15 cricket team secured a convincing win against Newcastle, triumphing by 50 runs in a spirited display of batting and bowling. Their next challenge will be a fixture against Ferrum this coming weekend, and the school community is already rallying behind them.

On the soccer field, the Vryheid boys and girls faced Utrecht in three exciting matches, where they celebrated a solid win and battled to a hard-fought draw.

Meanwhile, the U/17 netball girls and the U/17 and U/15 rugby teams represented the school in the Fast Five Netball and 7s Rugby tournaments in Bethlehem. The netball side put in a commendable performance, finishing fourth out of 12 teams, showing great determination and teamwork against strong competition.

As the sports fixtures continue, the school also wishes the Grade 12 learners the very best as they begin their trial examinations this week. The dedication shown both on the sports field and in the classroom truly reflects the spirit of Vryheid High.
