Protect your pets in the heat

With the heat of summer showing itself, please remember to give your pets fresh, clean water every day

The Animal Anti-Cruelty League (AACL) would like to ask the public to please support them. The animals at the kennels need food and blankets, and any donations are kindly appreciated. The AACL would like to thank Pie City and Pierre Massyn, as well as Nosipho, Akthar and Charlin from Nedbank for their donations towards the kennels.

A spayed Tabby cat has gone missing. She was last seen in the Egerton area. Please contact the league if you have any information regarding her whereabouts. A pair of Boerboels, one male and one spayed female, are looking for a good family home. There are many homeless orphans at the kennels as well. Please help find them a home. There is a wide variety of cats and dogs to choose from. These animals desperately need love.

With the heat of summer showing itself, please remember to give your pets fresh, clean water every day. Please also make sure they have access to a shady area. The fur on their bodies makes them much more susceptible to the heat. Please also dip your pets often, as the heat allows for insects such as fleas to manifest. This can be frustrating for your best friend and can cause him / her harm, depending on the parasite that has taken hold.
