Keep your pets safe and in your yard

If your property is not fit for your animals, they could be removed

The Animal Anti-Crueltry League (AACL) would like to remind the public that it is up to you to ensure your pets’ safety.
This doesn’t only mean keeping your furry friends up-to-date with vaccinations and inoculations, but also ensuring that your pets cannot escape your property. This sometimes means re-fencing your yard. Palisade fencing can sometimes allow young or small animals to slip through onto the road. If this is the case, then you need to put up chicken mesh or make a plan to have your yard re-fenced.

If your pet gets hits by a car or causes a collision, it is your responsibility. If your property is not fit for your animals, they could be removed. If this happens, you will also be liable for a fine. “The number of pets running around in the road is just unacceptable!” fumed an official from the AACL.

The league would like to thank Pierre Massyn and Pie City for their kind donations, as well as Ladysmith High School for their donations of food and spending time with the homeless animals at the kennels. These animals are desperate for a place to call home and a family to call their own. There is a variety of puppies, dogs and cats to suit the needs of every family, so please find it in your heart to help these beautiful animals who only want some love.
