We at the Animal Anti-Cruelty League (AACL) are happy to report that two little kittens were adopted over the weekend. However, we are still desperate for dry and tinned cat food.
Any donations are much appreciated. Please remember that the kennels run solely off donations and without food, the cats will die before they get a chance to experience a loving family. Thanks go to those who donate and this week, special thanks go out to Pierre Massyn who gives back to the animals every week.
Ropa, the neutered brown Dachshund who went missing from Diamana Road, has been reunited with his family. Sadly, the cream and white three-month-old female puppy called Rozanna that went missing from her home in Acaciavale is still missing, as is the long-legged white and brown Jack Russell (about 15 years old) answering to the name Tuffy who also went missing from a home in Acaciavale.
The league would like to remind the public that they do not respond to calls concerning stray animals. There is an increasing number of animals on our roads who like to dig in dustbins. This is very problematic, so if you have pets of your own, please ensure that they they do not and cannot get out of your property. However, if your pet is found to be chained up in an abusive manner, you will be fined. If you have a problem with keeping your pet inside your property, there is always a solution. You can contact the league if you have any queries on 076-151-1784.
Please also remember that owning a pet is a huge responsibility and that means you need to make sure your pet’s vaccinations are up to date. Rabies, cat flu and parvo are deadly diseases that are heartbreaking to witness. If you have what it takes to be a loving pet owner, the AACL has many pets who are desperately looking for good homes. Animals are truly amazing friends and each of them deserves a home they can call their own!
