The Animal Anti-Cruelty League (AACL) is happy to report that the Night Market went really well on Friday night. They had a stall in the Old Mill off Queen Street, selling a wide variety of books. There were also dog biscuits and hoofs filled with peanut butter, which the doggies love! For the humans, there were delicious muffins on sale.
On the table stood the ‘Tree of Remembrance’, on which people hung the names of their beloved pets that have passed away. This was such a nice idea to remember our loved ones while at the same time raising money for furry friends in need. Thank you to those people who showed their support.
The draw for the raffle has been moved to Friday, December 13. The raffle is currently on the go and the first prize is a weekend for two in the Nelson Mandela Presidential Suite at the Fern Hill Hotel & Conference Centre, including bed and breakfast. Tickets are only R20. This is also for a very worthy cause, as all the money raised will go to the AACL.
Tickets are available from the league and Gazette offices. All the proceeds will be going towards the maintenance of the kennels, so please show your support.
There are currently eight ‘hunting dog’ puppies at the kennels that will be available for adoption in January. They range in colour from brindle to cream and will grow into medium-sized dogs. Their mother is also available for adoption in January.
A blind, white Bull Terrier was picked up near Egerton. Please collect her if she belong to you.
The AACL is in need of cat food, both dry and wet, so please find it in your heart to donate some.
We would like to wish Frank a very happy birthday for Saturday!
