Five Cent Piece – Well being vs just being

Five Cent Piece reflects this week on those things not necessary for ultimate survival and well-being.

‘Twas not for the hardships we trudged down memory lane.’

That’s a very nice quote, if you like those sorts of things. The sarcasm is of course, optional.

Five Cent Piece reflects this week on those things not necessary for ultimate survival and well-being. What is well-being you ask? Well-being is a mythical state of mind where everything makes sense and you don’t have any problems.

Sounds too good to be true? It isn’t.

After you have climbed the mountain that is self-immersion and conquered the battle that is one’s problems in life, it is clear that nothing will be put on your path that you are incapable of dealing with.

At times, you will falter. This is normal behaviour, and a relapse is not to be scoffed at. We all eventually hit rock-bottom as far as patience and reason go. But remember this, bad blood will out.

Somewhere, somehow, the answer shall present itself. It won’t be on a silver platter, with a well-dressed butler to heave your baggage around for you. No. It will be covered in the bric-a-brac that is morality and the deceit of false people.

Pray you never have the misfortune of crossing paths with a Typhoid Mary of destructive self-absorbence. They are out there, and hell bent on ruining the last, honestly good morsel of soul you have left to you. After the wide world has chewed you up and spat you out, that is.

Five Cent Piece gathers himself, brushes the dust off his knees and giggles. Before blindly taking the next plunge into the fray we call existence.

When a particularly vexing mule decides to plant themselves in between you and the way to well-being, take a leaf from the books of wiser men.

Pay someone else to give them a hiding.
