Madam – Handle the heat.
I, via media, born and bred in Newcastle, want to thank Nelson Mpeko and his team at Protection Services in this town/ “city” – plus surrounding areas – for putting their own lives at risk to protect us.
In my 60 years in this town, we had NO protection service. As I recall one night, my husband late from work, dropped a smouldering cigarette on the floor of the garage where petrol had leaked from the car.
Luckily I was in the kitchen and saw the flames! My neighbour shouted and my reflex was just to get the car out. This I did, but it was not to my advantage as my clothes started to burn.
I got the car out and then left the rest in the garage to “go to hell”. My neighbours tried to help but what could buckets of water and a useless hosepipe do against these flames?
Nothing!
Whereas if Protection Services and Nelson were around, we could have saved lots that was stored in the garage.
