The positive effect

Life seems to get busier every year. I’ve heard so many people complaining that this year seems to going so much faster than last year.

It’s exciting to live in age with so many possibilities and opportunities. We have more freedom of movement, opinion, interests and hobbies than our parents ever did. The demands of work and school have also increased. This makes for a busy and demanding life. I went on holiday a few weeks ago, and realised I didn’t get excited before the trip because I had been too busy.

Usually, I would start packing weeks before. I would research fun things to do and plan events. The holiday was great, but I couldn’t help feeling disappointed that I’d missed the best part: getting excited before the trip.

It made me realise that although a busy life is fun and rewarding, we all need to find time for child – like emotions, or the emotions we felt when we were younger. We need to make time for getting excited about small things, and happy about silly things.

And maybe no one else gets why these things make us so excited or happy, but who cares? It’s the positive effect it has on our life that matters.
