EARLIER this month I was a guest at the local choir festival.

Thank you to Mr C Jonker, principal of Nuwe Republiek School, and Mrs Ria Grobler, the organisers of this prestigious event.

Is there anything in this world that can unite different cultural groups like music, and especially choir work?

It was pure joy to hear those voices! Truly uplifting to the Spirit, and timeless!

I wonder whether the public at large is aware of the singing talent in our midst, and the feeling of goodwill it has among our people.

Talented people train these choirs. Hours, days, months of dedicated work. Thank you for the most uplifting evening!
