Editor – Most of us are quick to criticise our two municipalities and we have valid reason to do so, but do you think that provincial and national government departments are doing better?
If you have not had dealings with some of them, oh dear, I don’t grant you any such dealings. I would like to share my worst example with you…
I applied for firearm licences at the local police station in 2007.
After several follow-ups, I received one licence four years later in 2011, when I was told the rest will arrive in due course. Suffice it to say that the due course never arrived. After further follow-ups and another four years later in 2015, I was told that the rest of my applications have for some unknown reason been withdrawn and that I have to submit duplicate applications.
So, after eight years, no licences; can you beat this one?
My advice to you when making applications is to keep your receipts, acknowledgment, etc, in the safe with your firearms. Luckily I did. Good luck!
