Madam – As the festive season draws nearer, motorists seems to have lost all forms of common sense when driving.
Stop signs have become mere suggestions, where as red traffic lights are simply signs that a driver should accelerate and hope for the best.
I do not know whether it is just me, but this seems to be a problem every year from November until January. You just need to look at the increase of motor vehicle collision to see how things have deteriorated on the roads of Newcastle.
Many people might point fingers at traffic cops, but they can only do so much. They are so busy trying to ensure that people are not driving under the influence or attending to accident scenes that they cannot monitor the deplorable driving habits of Average Joe Newcastle.
I am begging people to drive carefully this festive season, not only to keep my blood pressure down, but to ensure that lives are not lost. No one really wants to be the cause of death of another human being or leave a child orphaned.
Lets leave hardcore racing to Vin Diesel and the Fast and the Furious franchise.
