Madam – What I had to face on January 2 was not how I wanted to start my year.

There are people who enjoy what they see just because they dislike a certain animal.

I was watching television when I heard what sounded like a scream.

I looked out of my window and saw two dogs ripping something, letting go and again ripping something. I went out on my balcony and tried to see what these dogs were ripping. To my horror, I had to hear from the smiling next-door neighbour’s son that the dogs were ripping a cat.

I shouted at the dogs to stop. The one released but the other one still held the cat in his mouth. I shouted again in an angry voice and then the dog let it go, leaving it in the driveway.

I took a municipal bag and went down to the driveway and picked up the lifeless body with the bag. I was heartbroken and yes, it was not a nice thing to see. It was dark, but feeling the lifeless body through the bag was heartbreaking.

I will not mention the name of the smiling neighbour, for he and his girlfriend will get what is coming to them. God sees and waits.
