While Mr Makhoba is very verbose and literally articulate, I am afraid I am not sure what he is saying exactly. Certainly, he must defend decisions taken by Council as they pay him.
He is not going to say, ‘yes, the tender procedures are unfair’. That would be silly. But, my goodness, could he give clear explanations on certain issues:
1. Who implements by-laws in the town?
2. Why does the refuse removal truck work after hours and on weekends? Is this to earn overtime?
3. Provide a breakdown of the people employed at the municipality over the past 12 months and include proof of their qualifications.
We pay rates and taxes and deserve answers.
