Madam – Reading Marshalling the fight against cancer in last week’s Newcastle Advertiser brought tears to my eyes.
Tracey Marshall is such a brave woman and I am truly glad she was awarded the title of Global Hero of Hope.
Cancer is a devastating disease and unless you have faced it yourself, either through being diagnosed with cancer or seeing a loved one fight it, you never know just how much strength is required to survive.
Not only do you have to fight against the illness that is eating away at you, but you need to fight to stay alive, fight for your sanity, fight against your fear and fight against your anger and depression.
I admire Tracey and the way she has persevered through it all to become a symbol of hope for others.
Many people still see cancer as a death sentence, but irrespective of whether you live or die from it, never stop striving to create a legacy of hope for other cancer patients and their families.
I believe Tracey will do an amazing job of creating awareness around cancer and the importance of people staying healthy.
