Madam – I must say I am very impressed about how Newcastle residents have assisted Vryheid by sending litres of water over to the town.
However, while aiding those in need is of water is a generous gesture, what steps are Newcastillians taking to ensure that we do not land in the same predicament?
On a regular basis, I have seen people watering their gardens and using hosepipes to wash their cars.
Despite the fact that we have had some rain, the drought persists and we as a community need to take precautionary steps to ensure we do not have to rely on neighbouring towns for water.
I strongly advise people to refrain from wasting water and start coming up with initiative ways to save water.
Water is plays a huge role in our daily life and without it, we will not survive, so lets not be part of the reason that there is no water in Newcastle.
