Valentine’s Day, a waste of time and money

Valentine's Day in my opinion is a crock of horse radish, nothing more than a ploy for stores to commercialise love.

Madam – Valentine’s Day in my opinion is a crock of horse radish, nothing more than a ploy for stores to commercialise love.

It really grinds my gears to see how people are ambushed with corny gifts and sweets. Jewellery stores leave men feeling a tad bit insecure, because if you don’t buy your partner an exquisite piece of jewellery, how much could you love her?

Women are also put under a lot of pressure on the day, after all how do you show your man that you really care without buying something smothered in pink? Plus, unless a woman likes cars, comics or other manly items, where do you begin shopping?

I think society has lost the plot and should focus on being the ideal partner to their significant other all year round. Why do we have to wait for a day where stores can benefit from our relationships?

I might seem bitter towards the day, but I honestly feel there are better ways to spoil your loved one than doing something similar as thousands of people, on exactly the same day.

Lets do away with Valentine’s Day and rather make every day a special one for our loved ones.
