We think that poverty is only being hungry, naked and homeless. The poverty of being unwanted, unloved and uncared for is the greatest poverty.
Many children are abandoned by their parents because of the first definition of poverty. Other parents decide to “throw” away their children when born with a disability.
Many children are brought in everyday after being discovered in places where their parents leave them. Do disabled children deserve to be treated this way?
Everybody needs the love and care our parents and guardians give, but are there people out there willing to be those parents? Apparently, there still are.
A mother’s love does not need to be bound by blood. Last year this time a woman felt a connection with a baby the moment she saw him. Apparently, the child was found by a carpenter (the woman’s husband) inside a refuse bag outside of his home.
When he saw what was inside the bag, it gave him quite a shock! The baby was born with Down Syndrome, and was “thrown away” by his parents.
But every cloud has a silver lining: he was brought into a family that loved and cared for him, who treasured him as the most prized jewel in their family.
The woman knew that he had something special in him and took him in immediately. He grew up to be a sweet, loving child whom they loved as wholeheartedly as well.
