The President is playing a dangerous game with us all

The pack of cards the President is currently dealing seems to have been made in India by the Gupta family

Have you ever bought a new pack of cards, shuffled them all up and then realised that you haven’t taken the jokers out?

It’s annoying right. That’s how the country feels at the moment. The “honourable” President has shuffled his cabinet like a pack of cards, but instead of taking out the jokers, the President has removed all the noble jacks and still expects to get a royal flush. The jokers left behind include old phuzaface herself, Bathabile Dlamini. The President is keeping his cards very close to his chest, not even allowing the top brass of the ANC to see the hand he’s holding. He doesn’t care about the calls for the cards to be dealt again, instead, putting on his best poker face and ignoring what everyone else thinks.

The pack of cards the President is currently dealing seems to have been made in India by the Gupta family and much like their other products, (ANN7), is of poor quality. The President has also taken to playing other games with the country and the economy, most notably, Russian Roulette. Only in this version, there’s no winner whichever way you look at it. If we sign the deal with the Russians we are dead and if we don’t, we are dead as well, only because Russia won’t be too happy with that. The President and his cronies who run the country, however, benefit big time if the deal is signed.

There’s a lot to play for. Speaking of playing, did you know that the new South African version of Monopoly has been released. You can now buy Nkandla (if you can steal enough money) and own an infinite amount of Get Out Of Jail free cards, if you’re connected to someone in government. Forget about the electricity and water utilities in the previous games, you can now buy the SABC, Eskom, Post Office and SAA, giving you complete control over the board.

There’s also a special ‘Saxonworld Sheeben’ block on the board that you can stop over at if you need a break from all the political wheeling and dealing. Also new to the game are the revamped game tokens which now includes a shower head. As the saying goes, ‘It’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt.’

Sadly in this case, the people getting hurt, are the people of this fine country who are being taken advantage of by a power hungry puppet and his Gupta ventriloquists.
