Vitamin K is a fat soluble vitamin that is produced in the intestines. There are three forms of Vitamin K. Vitamin K1 or phylloquinone is found in plants.
Vitamin K2 or menaquinone is synthesized from certain types of bacteria. Vitamin K3 or menadione is a synthetic, man-made form of this vitamin.
In the body, Vitamin K assists the functions of the liver and is used to control blood clotting and is also essential for bone repair.
A deficiency of Vitamin K can cause osteoporosis, nosebleeds, internal haemorrhaging or bruising easily. Vitamin K is essential for the health of the skin.
It is a highly effective solution for the treatment of dark circles or puffiness under the eyes, bruising and broken capillaries or spider veins.
It is also an excellent anti-ageing treatment as well as the treatment of hyperpigmentation, dark spots or uneven skin tone. Food sources of Vitamin K include liver, cheese, spinach and broccoli.
