All good things must come to an end, even for bad people, as Uncle Bob recently found out.
Uncle Bob ruled Zimbabwe with an iron fist for 37 years, leading to the economic and social downfall of the country, much to the dismay of the citizens living there.
Despite his many faults, and there have been many, Uncle Bob had many followers.
It’s hard to say whether he was genuinely loved by some people, whether they followed him out of fear, or whether they just wanted a piece of the pie.
Uncle Bob’s rule though is no different from many throughout history.
Power hungry individuals, who, despite the lengths they would go through to cling to their power, still had the support and adoration of followers.
Sometimes their followers are not just followers, they’re more like family, as was the case with Charles Manson.
Manson, a notorious cult leader, led a group called ‘The Family’.
The Family idolized Manson and his beliefs so much so that they even killed for him. His family disciples committed at least nine murders, but it was the horrific killing spree of seven people over two days that sealed their notoriety.
Manson passed away on Sunday at the age of 83 while in prison, where he was serving a life sentence. He was denied parole 12 times.
Despite being inherently evil, Manson was married twice and recently engaged to 26-year-old Afton Elaine Burton, who began corresponding with Manson when she was 17.
So what makes a person fall in love with someone who is well publicised as being rotten to the core.
A little more closer to home, that same question can be asked of six women who married Bra Jacob.
Despite the rape allegations against him and the tons and tons of cases of corruption that he’s up for, he still has loyal followers.
Hopefully, as with Uncle Bob and Charlie Manson, everything is soon going to come crashing down for Bra Jacob. Followers only hang around as long as they’re getting something and once that ends, JZ could find himself behind bars where he rightly belongs.
