The Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality has cleared the air with the concerned councillors. The matter has been ironed out administratively with the senior management in the municipality.
The unfortunate part of last week’s publication on this issue was that it was done without having consulted with the municipal management.
The electrification project for KwaNdaba and Shayamoya is planned to be implemented in the 2018/2019 financial year. The electrification project identified for implementation within the Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality requires approval from the local municipality, district municipality and the council resolution.
Both Councillor MC Mkhize and Councillor L Mlaba had the meeting with Mr T Manda (Administrator) and Mr PS Mkhize (Municipal Manager).
The two councillors were shown the letter to Eskom confirming that this project will be implemented in 2018/19 financial year. The Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality therefore is working tirelessly to make sure that service delivery is a priority and electricity is at the top of the list as it is a necessity. Communities are urged to allow processes to unfold.
Mr SP Mkhize
Municipal Manager
