I think a lot; in fact maybe too much has been said about the state of service delivery in our town. But the question is for how much longer do we have to complain before our town’s council starts getting their act together?
It is embarrassing to drive or walk around town and see all of the service delivery fails. It is even more embarrassing when visitors are here.

To those businesses and community organisations that host events, it must be so awful to welcome guests and then hear their complaints of potholes, litter, no lines on the roads, refuse of the sidewalks, illegal dumping and the never ending water and sewer leaks in our town.
Even our main street looks like an out-dated, neglected road that does not bode well for future investment opportunities.
To me, poor service delivery will be the downfall of our town as it will repulse future investors, forcing our town’s economy into a downward spiral.

The bigger picture is that, if there isn’t rapid and positive development, Estcourt has a bleak future and we could soon be called a ghost town.
With an increasing number of unemployed people, decreasing number of attractive features to pull in more people and businesses and retain those that we have, I see a dim future for Estcourt.
