Editor – I am a resident of Roosboom who is crying out for help because of the poor services they give us in this area.
To start off with, whenever political parties want us to vote for them, they tend to make big promises of building RDP houses, building a hall for the community and centres where the youth can gather together, and supplying people with running tap water.
To date, none of this has actually happened. The people of Roosboom still receive poor services even after voting for the new councillors.
The roads are not in good condition, and some people still have to travel long distances to fetch water.
The youth of Roosboom is dying because there aren’t any centres where youngsters can get together and do positive things, thus they associate themselves with ‘bad’ elements and end up getting involved in criminal activities.
If the ruling party could live up to their promises of making our community a better place for everyone to live in a healthy manner, we would really be grateful.
I am crying out for help for this community, which is dying a slow death.
