Letter to the editor: Take time out to help others
I also encourage local government, organisations and business to continue working towards bettering the quality of life for all citizens of Newcastle.

Madam – Thank you for a wonderful newspaper this week.
Although there were many articles on the negative side, I did enjoy most of all the uplifting article on the wheelchair drive.
I find it wonderful that there are still people in this day and age who set aside their own agendas and prejudices to help someone else in desperate need.

I’m sure the beneficiaries also deeply appreciated the help.
That being said, maybe we should all take time out of our busy weeks, months and years to also contribute to helping our fellow humans.
Obviously there are those who cannot make a difference through financial means, and to those I encourage you to affect change in some other kind of way.
Paint a roof, clean windows or cut vegetables!
Newcastle has a reputation for being a city filled with goodhearted people, so wouldn’t it be lovely to continue building up the community in this way?
What a blessing that could be.
I also encourage local government, organisations and business to continue working towards bettering the quality of life for all citizens of Newcastle.
Let us all reflect the light of God (in whatever form you worship Him) and bring hope to the hopeless.
Together we can create a brighter dawn not only for Newcastle, but even one which grows across the province with its message.
