Do your bit to bring an end to cable theft

Let us take our civic duties seriously... After all, it affects us all in one way or another

The recent spate of cable thefts our town has been experiencing refers.

Cable theft has been experienced very recently in a number of places, and the resulting havoc it has caused is shocking.

Thousands of litres of water was wasted when cable was stolen from the pump station in lower Canna Avenue.

It also meant that the reservoir which supplies Forderville and surrounding areas ran low or empty through not being able to fill up.

Schools in the area are affected, as the lack of water has implications for the hygiene of schoolchildren and the communities at large.

Let us take these acts of vandalism seriously, as they can cripple our towns and cities, and have huge economic implications.

Take note of and report suspicious activity near substations (as has been asked by our electrical department), as well as other areas where cable theft can take place. Let us take our civic duties seriously… After all, it affects us all in one way or another.
