Vryheid Rugby Club – Are you ready to commit?

"We are looking forward to our preseason with a few tough games and a possible Shark Tank game to prepare us for our usual Northern Natal League," said Head Coach, Rich Verster, adding, "We're also planning a tour for club players after the season."

It’s that time of the year again.

With the rugby season officially kicking off at the end of March, players will need to commit themselves to the 2016 season with some intensive training and practice.

“We are looking forward to our preseason with a few tough games and a possible Shark Tank game to prepare us for our usual Northern Natal League,” said Head Coach, Rich Verster, adding, “We’re also planning a tour for club players after the season.”

Verster went on to say that, with the help of Lee Bezuidenhout Biokinetics and Rogue Functional Training doing the preseason preparations, players and coaches will be in good shape for the season.

“We would like all the boys to join us and we want to build a better club,” stated 2015 First Team Captain, Wessie Van Der Westhuyzen, who led his squad through an impressive 2015 season, always leading by example and never lacking in encouraging words for the team, ” But we can only do so if the players commit and help us with that. As a club, we would love to see all the players and even some new faces.”

Van Der Westhuyzen concluded with a call to his team, “I personally challenge all the first team boys to be there and start working hard to prove to ourselves we are the best.”

Thursday’s practice was cancelled due to the storm, but practice will resume next Tuesday.
