Honouring a local cricket icon

Musthupha Khan was one of the cricket players who was robbed of his true potential by apartheid sport

Local cricket icon Musthupha Khan was honoured at tea time on the second day of the first cricket test between England and South Africa, played in Durban.

He was one of the cricket players who was robbed of his true potential by apartheid sport. A former Natal Cricket captain and South African selector, Musthupha Khan was presented with a special blazer at tea time during the test match by Haroon Lorgat, president of Cricket South Africa.

This gesture, by Cricket South Africa, to honour all those who have suffered as a result of apartheid sport, sees closure of another chapter in trying to heal the wounds of the past. Seen in the above photo is Musthupha Khan (centre), flanked by Haroon Lorgat and Dr Mohamed Mulla after the presentation.
