Soccer tournament comes to an epic conclusion

As both teams set their sights on the win, players had to dig deep within themselves to outplay their opposition.

NEWCASTLE – The Newcastle Social Soccer League (NSSL) tournament came to an end on Sunday, with Siyahlala and Newcastle Stars reaching the final.

Despite Siyahlala’s best efforts, Newcastle Stars was victorious as the team secured a win of four-one.

The closure of the tournament opened the gates to the NSSL season, where teams will compete for the league title.

Sparta Fairleigh took on Imphupu Dynamos in the first game of the league on Sunday.

While both teams played an excellent game of football, they squandered golden opportunities in scoring, as their defence was shaky.

Imphupu Dynamos eventually took the lead, after being given a free kick. Eager to secure an equaliser, Sparta Fairleigh put pressure on Imphupu Dynamos, and by the second half, was two-one in the lead. Dynamos eventually scored an equaliser and the game concluded with a two-all draw.

Stella took on Madrid FC in the second game of the day, and was defeated as Madrid FC won with a staggering score of six-four.

This Thursday, Sparta Fairleigh will face Madrid FC, while Siyahlala will play against Stella FC. The matches are set to start at 6pm.

On Sunday, Madrid will go against Imphupu Dynamos at 1pm, while Stella will compete against Shining Stars at 3pm. On the day, Sparta will also play against Siyahlahla.

On Thursday, June 30, Imphuphu Dynamos will play Siyahlala, while Sparta Fairleigh will battle it out with Stella. Both matches are set to take place at 6pm.
