Sentraal’s fairy tale league season comes to an end

Showing great determination, it was hoped that Sentraal could play like the Springboks and make a great second half come back but in the end, they had to settle with a 41-19 loss.

The T-Shirts For Africa Sentraal Rugby’s fairytale rugby season has come to a disappointing end as far as the league is concerned. Having to play at two different venues on the same day against two different opponents was always going to be tough. And there was also the Biltongfees to contend with too.
Playing away in Vryheid, Sentraal’s second side had a difficult day with kick-off delayed by 15 minutes.
Some sluggish defence saw Vryheid run in three quick tries and from there on it was catch-up rugby for the Sentraal boys. Although they played some decent rugby and kept Vryheid at bay, Sentraal succumbed 68-7. The only try for Sentraal was scored by Tevern Magwasa and converted by Sipho Sibisi.

For both games there were no man of the match awards as everyone was rushing back for the Biltongfees.

Sentraal’s first side met Piet Retief away and it was a similar story than the one in Vryheid. Poor defence saw Piet Retief quickly out of the blocks. With a halftime score of 34–7, the writing was on the wall or so everyone believed.
Showing great determination, it was hoped that Sentraal could play like the Springboks and make a great second half come back but in the end, they had to settle with a 41-19 loss.
For Sentraal, tries were scored by Brandon Biyela, Eugene Corbitt and Danie Vermaak. Pierre Booysen converted two. For both games,  no man of the match awards were made as every one was rushing back for the Biltongfees.
Now for the knock–out competition: players are urged to be at practices from 5.30pm Tuesdays and Thursdays.
