Icy splash in aid of furry friends

88 brave swimmers, the oldest being 67 and the youngest only five, took part

The Drakensberg Polar Swim Challenge took place on Saturday, June 25 at noon at the Dragon Peaks Dam.  88 brave swimmers, the oldest being 67 and the youngest only five, took part. For safety, swimmers set off at 15 second intervals. The winners of the day were the Estcourt Animal Shelter and the Khetani Animal Rescue. An amazing amount of pet food was collected and divided equally between the two organisations. Wahoo Masters Swimming Club from Gauteng donated a whole trailer load of pet food.
