Well done Viren and team

Players from Dundee, Ladysmith and Pietermaritzburg joined the field

Viren Omardath and his team outdid themselves in organising the Forderville Primary School fundraising golf day. A field of 60 players participated in a betterball scramble drive in perfect weather.

Players from Dundee, Ladysmith and Pietermaritzburg joined the field. Mukie predicted a score of 60 points with a scramble drive but the greens had the final say with plenty of 3 and 4 putting notably by Mukie himself.

The winning father and son pairing of Razak and Joe khan won on 52 points followed by Ajeesh Lalparsad and Adrian Brown on 51, Vaughn Ric-Hanson and George van Niekerk on 50 and Mukie Ghasitha and Jeremy Brown on 48.

In second place Ajeesh Lalparsad and Adrian Brown with the Omardath family.

44 of the players received prizes of the highest quality. Closest to the pins were achieved by Naveen, Johny, Rishi and Deejay. After prize giving everyone enjoyed a lovely mutton breyani. Thank you again Viren, you did a sterling job. A bit of fun afterwards when some of the players hit a ball off a Coke bottle and peg. Big hits was made – none better than Ajeesh and Dave Diedrick who propelled the ball a mighty three metres.

Kammy hit the pole with his first try. On Saturday, the betterball stableford was won by Deejay Ramdhav and three putt Mukie Ghasitha on 47. Deejay blamed Mukie for his 3 putting for 50 points.

Second on 45 were Carlo Piagesti and Peter Wood. Carlo dumped his old partner, Gandi, to be in the prizes for a change. Third went to Lional Laatz and Gordon Smith on count out.

Ruben Meads made two clubs on seven and 16. This Saturday is a betterball and on the 30th is Paul Fick’s Skaapdag.
