Chilly Drakensberg Polar Bear Swim for charity

The real winners were the Estcourt Animal Shelter and Khetani Animal Rescue in Winterton

The Drakensberg Polar Bear Swim Challenge took place on Saturday at the Dragon Peaks Dam.

Swimmers set off in intervals of 10 seconds apart.

146 brave polar bears swam across the dam of which the temperature was 7°C.

Many spectators and swimmers donated pet food.

The real winners were the Estcourt Animal Shelter and Khetani Animal Rescue in Winterton.
