Expect surprises in the APL knock-out cup

With catches being so poor currently, the outcome of these encounters may just produce surprising results.

The Angling Professional League (APL) will host the semifinals of the Transnat Knock Out Cup on February 11 at Richgate Park.
Ladysmith AC will do battle against Challengers while Breakwaters will be up against Dannhauser Angling Club with the winners progressing to the finals. Both competing clubs will be fishing in the same zone determined by a draw taking place on the morning of the competition. With catches being so poor currently, the outcome of these encounters may just produce surprising results.
The second registration period has opened for those members of the public wishing to join the APL, with the closing date being February 19.
The title holders of the APL are thus far: Yusuf Cassim of Dannhauser Angling Club (Heaviest Scaled Fish, a carp of 3,870kg); Valentino Murugan of Ladysmith AC (Heaviest Non Scaled Fish – 11,490kg); Abhay Jawair of Stillwaters AC (Junior Angler of the Year – 6 pts); Veruschka Boodhoo of Stillwaters AC (Lady Angler of the Year – 6 pts), Dan Govinder of Ladysmith AC (Senior Angler of the Year – 12 pts) and Monty Slabbert of Breakwaters AC (Angler of the Year – 43 pts).
