Pedaling through lockdown with a positive attitude

Lockdown was getting to the emotional side of many of the riders

Vryheid Mountain Bike Club is dreaming of the earth beneath their tyres and chasing sunsets!
Club members were indeed excited when President Cyril Ramaphosa lifted the curfew for exercise in level 4 of the national lockdown, since this enabled them to ride from 6am until 9am every day.
Lockdown was getting to the emotional side of many of the riders. The frustration and uncertainties regarding the coronavirus were and are still unbearable. Hence it is important for cyclists to create a positive outlook to keep from feeling the brunt of the lockdown.
Riding on their very own beautiful off-road and single tracks helps them escape the uncertainty of reality.
A positive message from the club to the community of Vryheid is: A journey wouldn’t be a journey if one knew the future. Be patient, get out there, change what you can and make the best with what you have.
